Steve and all of JoAnn's family,

I am so sad to learn that JoAnn died. I was looking forward to seeing her at our Northeast High School reunion in October. I knew JoAnn from childhood as I lived on 35th Avenue NE, across the street from North Shore Elementary. As children we played with Sherry Story, Diane Kerr, Karen Pearlmutter and other friends in the neighborhood and then continued as friends in Jr High and High School. The last time I saw JoAnn was at my sister, Trina Russell Prill's funeral almost 10 years. My memories of JoAnn was she was such an adoorable redhead with a calm, and nice-to-everyone personality. This is a very sad day as I learned about JoAnn's death from a classmate. A wonderful woman has gone to join our Lord. I am sending prayers from California to JoAnn's family.

JoAnn and I worked together at Fairmount Park for many years. She was such a talented teacher. She worked with both the struggling students and the gifted students in my classroom. I always felt so lucky that she was assigned to our grade level. But JoAnn was more than just a great teacher, she was a great friend to all of us at Fairmount Park, staff and parents alike. She made work fun with her positive attitude, decorating/artistic skills and wonderful homemade cookies. She will always remain a fond memory for me. I was honored to have known her. Wishing the family peace in knowing how much she was loved by all those around her. Respectfully, Sue Casto, teacher

JoAnn and I shared many years together at Fairmount Park. Her dedication to the students she served were a true inspiration to all who knew her. She touched many lives with her love for teaching, decorating and cooking. I will always remember how she created the most beautiful bridal bouquets for my daughter's wedding and loved doing it!! My family and I also enjoy the many recipes she shared with me over the years and think of her often. JoAnn was a friend and mentor and I will remember her always. May her family find peace and comfort in knowing that she was loved.
